[DVBC] iPod or MP3 Which is Better?

I've learned few things myself from all this discussion, but have a
different question.  I like MP3 players (or MP3 Video players) and have no
problem downloading music from the Internet, or pictures from my computer
but find it difficult to find a web site with music videos to download.  

 

I've noticed that there are few sites for Video iPods; although I do not
know how good they are and if they all support also video MP3s.  Does
anybody know of the good web site to download music videos to MP3?

I personally would purchase a MP3 player, if all you want is music.

 

Cheap 40bucks for a 512mb model with FM radio and voice recorder.

No problem playing any format including WMA's. Not sure if the iPod will
play these.

I convert mp3's to WMA's (1/3 the size of an mp3 depending what bitrate and
freq you choose).  

 

I use an iRiver 256mb and load it with about 200 songs.  I go on 6hr bike
rides and never hear the same song.

 

I have no personal connections with iRiver.  I just like this product for
what it is.  It small, easy to use, and holds all the music I will ever need
on any given bike ride or at the gym.  Why people need a 10-20G device for
music beats me, but that's why there's vanilla and chocolate.  I store my
1000's of songs on the computer and upload what I need to the player.

 

Again if you only want music then I would pick the MP3, but if you need
pic's and video then the choice would be iPod or a similar device.  My
feeling with any Apple product is overpriced and restricted that's their
marketing plan.  I'm sure there's Apple lovers out there, but this is only
my 2 cents.

I'm thinking about getting either an iPod or MP3 for my daughter and I don't
know much about either.  Which is better?  What are the pros and cons about
both?  The iPods seem to be more expensive.  Are iPods only sold by Apple?
Any assistance to unmuddle my brain on this would be appreciated.  Thanks.
