Eric,

The publicity caravan is scheduled to arrive about 4:00 so I'm guessing we'd
reach the summit around 2:00 or so. We're turning around and heading back
down the way we came. Typically we end up having lunch/viewing about 2 km
from whatever summit we're doing that day. I'll look for you on the way back
down - I don't want to interrupt my blistering pace on the way up.

When are you getting to Alpe d'Huez? On (Sunday) the 16th I'll be by myself
about 40 km from the base of Alpe d'Huez. The guys on the regular package
are arriving in Geneva that day and will eventually have an easy ride around
the Eybens (Grenoble) area. Assuming the Pyrenees didn't beat me up too
badly I imagine I'll do a solo ride to Alpe d'Huez and hook up with the
other guys at dinner.

hey mike,

my family and i will be staying at l'hotel castillan in l'alpe d'huez.
    it's right on the course, on the route de la poste just after they
go under that little bridge, and about 1km from the finish.    we'll be
hanging over the barricades (but not too far over, and not with cameras
or green PMU hands) right in front of the hotel.     in 2004 we had a
canopy with some friends, hopefully this year too.  stop by and say hey.
