[DVBC] TOPA update

Deb,

Pls don't use a new Brooks saddle this weekend -- we'd like to ride with
you before autumn. There are however a number of things you can try that
will give more positive results, depending on which part of your nether
region is ailing:
	1) Use cycling shorts with a different type of liner.
	2) Check the tilt of your saddle. An upward tilt presses the
nose into your crotch (no comments, pls); a downward tilt causes you to
slide forward so you have to push back with your hands.
	3) Try sliding your saddle forward 5-10 mm to move pressure to a
new area.
	4) Stand more often.
	5) Change out of your shorts as soon as you're done riding.
	6) Petroleum-based lubricants (Bag Balm) have more staying power
than water-solubles (Chamois ButtR is non-greasy).
	7) Find a friend to loan you another saddle on a trial ride. You
never know what saddle works until you ride it.

Drew

D'stre`

Thanks for the advice. I actually did buy some Desitin since I
remembered using it for my kids when they were babies.

I'm thinking of getting a Brooks saddle, but like you said that might
not be a good idea for Friday since I won't be able to break it in.

Please do let me know if your plans fall through. I'm still working on
get up there. I've got to say that touring is hard work but it's fun.

Deb
