I stopped by Cycle Fit after the getting back from the race yesterday.
There's a sign on the front of building stating that they expect to be
back in business by June 19th. I Certainly hope so! As Larry said,
there was a ton of burned up tires, rims and boxes behind the store.
Wishing John, Greg and everyone else at Cycle Fit a speedy recovery.
All of us at DVBC are sorry to hear of this sad event and wish you the
best.
Debbie

Subject: [DVBC] Straightening the record
1.Cycle-fit was not destroyed by fire as reported on the Sunday 6ABC
news. There was fire in the rear of the shop apparently from a fire in
the dumpster. The mass of material shown on TV was the burned mess
around the dumpster and other discarded bike parts. Damage was limited
to the rear of the store as reported to the pre-ride-to- the- race group
who visited the site at 9AM Sunday. I hope that is the case.
My best wishes to John, Pete, Greg and the rest of the crew.
Let me/us know if there is anything we can do to help.
2.The Philly bike race was terriffic, even without Lance, Bobby,Levi,
Floyd, etc. There are so many races now and the need to focus on TDF prep
makes their appearance unlikely no matter the size of the purse. We got
to see the best National level male riders, International level female
racers and some top juniors.
Thanks should go to Gov Rendell and the new sponsors for saving the
event. We may have to do some positive work ourselves to keep it going!
Doc
