[DVBC] First aid training

You might want to have group first aid training rather than reimburse for individual training. Those interested within the club could attend one or two evenings for a couple of weeks. You might get more bang per buck that way.
It is wonderful when we have someone on a ride that has training and can help in these situations. I would think however we do not want to send the signal that when you go on a DVBC club ride you are any more protected from the risks of bike riding then when you are out on your own. My view is the ride leader is the ride leader because he knows the route directions (well not always, sorry Drew ! ) and not because he is providing some additional degree of protection. It can be difficult to find ride leaders let's not put any more real or perceived burden on them. They should know were they are going and encourage/challenge fellow riders. Anything else in my mind is over an above duty.
