[DVBC] Road Kill Award

Last week some DVBC riders were asking what the parameters are for the
Road Kill Award. We are all aware contact with animals is a potential
hazard with bicycling. Some riders think the poor animal must be killed
by a bicycle in some manner. Others argue that any contact with a wild
animal should constitute a road kill. I brought up the example of
riders running over snakes, squirrels and the like without actually
killing the poor animal.

So my question is; to be considered for the coveted DVBC Road Kill award
does the animal need to die or just become maimed in some fashion?
:-)
