DVBCers,
I'll throw another tour into the mix for your consideration: Texas
Hellweek (http://www.hellweek.com/texas.html) which I plan to do again this
March.
This ride should appeal to people who want to get in some early season
miles, seek warm weather, need minimal support, and who do not like to camp.
Riders stay in motels and spend the entire week at Fredericksburg, TX (more
about accomodations in a minute) doing 1-day rides of various distances
with A, B, or C groups or optionally riding alone and following cue sheets.
The routes are in the heart of Texas Hill Country which is comprised of
scenic, open rolling hills between Austin and San Antonio. There is nothing
similar on the east coast to compare it to but it's much, much more
interesting than any place I've seen in the 1500 miles or so I've biked in
Florida.
One friend whom I met last year is trying to arrange a house rental, so let
me know if you are interested.
Drew
