Thank you, Mike, for your kind words. We heard similar comments from many of the 335 guests who attended today's tour.
Yes, Drew coordinated another fantastic and well received tour, and Tony and his SAG team were busy but warmly appreciated by the many cyclists they helped today. And let's not forget Mother Nature, who decided to spare the DVBC from the wrath of Ernesto and the temperamental Brandywine River.
But all of the credit goes to our volunteers. They are the backbone of the DVBC, the ambassadors who greet and serve our guests with a warm smile and words of encouragement. We had many first-time volunteers this year, but you couldn't tell from the way they took direction and jumped right in when things got busy. They were so organized that we closed the main food stop at Fred Engle Middle School at 12:30 p.m., a record in my tour experience.
Words cannot fully express my gratitude for all of your hard work today. Please enjoy what's left of the Labor Day weekend knowing what a great job you did. Thank you so much!
