Woody, glad to hear you had a nice weekend. I will definitely try to get it back on my calendar for next year. Bring the ride up sometime in the early summer when we ride together so that I will remember to make plans.

DVBC Friends
Any interest out there? This is always a fun time. Anyway I've been
volunteering for this event for the last few years and it has always been
lots of fun. Basically you become part of the event's security detail.
Biking against the flow of 30,000+ walkers looking for problems and helping
to guide in emergency vehicles. The first time I did this I was amazed at
all the people with good intentions at the start drop off midway through the
walk. Unlike our bike events where all but one or two make it through with
out issue. The event starts in front of the Art Museum, down the East River
Drive, across the Falls Bridge, and back to the Art Museum via the West
River Drive (~8 miles). Supplied with a radio, vest, and whisle it is a fun
filled day of biking. Since the weather has been reasonalble each time I've
done the event I have always biked from home. Round trip I usually end up
with a little over fifty miles for the day.

Due to the amount of daylight I'm changing the start time for the last two
weeks of this month. The start time for Tuesday and Thursday will be moved
up to 5:30pm.

Happy cycling,

Len

Rich,

Unfortunately the trip is over for this year, however, we will be doing it again next year, most likely in August. Thanks for your interest.

  Hi Melvin,

Is there a link I can go to for information on cycling there?

  Thanks,

Do you have other non-member freinds who may like a trip to VT? Give them a heads up and maybe they will become members. Don't forget this trip can be anything you want to make it. A casual bike ride each day, a challenging ride in the green mountains of VT, a hike on the AT/LT and other local trails, MT Bike at Mt. Snow, or just relaxing for a true vacation in the beautiful setting of the Lodge. Don't forget to bring a lawn chair!

Compliments of Deb Chaga and her current issue of Adventure Cyclist.

QBP contines the recall of its "Dimension" brand 26.0 road and 25.4 moutain threadless handlebar stems in the 130 degree "highrise" models in all extension lengths. They've received 4 reports of stems breaking during use, and 3 cyclists have been injured. Affects stems sold from January 2003 through March 2005.

Call QBP at 877-725-7211 or visit www.dimensionbikeproducts.com or www.cpsc.gov for more information.

Pass it on, and be safe out there.

Dom
