Thought this could be on interest.
We are home to the Bridge to Bridge, an unbelievably difficult century, that
draws riders from around the world. In May, a new ride will wind through
some of the most beautiful country in the North Carolina mountains. We are
about 5 hours north of Atlanta so bring all your members to visit the NC
mountains for the weekend. They can choose from three rides a 60 mile, 40
mile and 9 mile fun ride.
If you could let your members know about our new ride we would appreciate
the help. It will use the same route as the Bridge to Bridge will use this
fall so your members can see the new route before anyone else.

The First Annual Cycle to Serve Bicycle Challenge is brought to you by The
Rotary Clubs of Lenoir and Caldwell County. Both of this year's club
presidents are avid cyclists, so it seemed like the natural thing to do when
we were looking for a way to raise money for the Healthy Caldwellians. This
will be the first time hundreds of cyclists return to the roads of Caldwell
County since last year's Bridge and the tragic loss of Statesville rider,
Scott Bush, who died of a massive heart attack on Hwy 221 near the end of
last year's Bridge to Bridge. The Cycle to Serve Bicycle Challenge is
dedicated to the memory of Scott Bush, one of our own and a Bridge to Bridge
veteran!
So get on the road and ride through much of Caldwell County's most beautiful
hills and valleys. If your only ride here has been the Bridge to Bridge,
this ride is for you! It is a 100K route that starts and ends in downtown
Lenoir. It has all the rolling beauty and challenge of the Bridge without
the painful finish! No Hwy 181 and no Grandfather Mountain!! Or, if you
prefer, there will be a shorter 44 mile option.
This route will give you a preview of some of the roads that next year's
Bridge to Bridge will be covering prior to arriving at the foot of Hwy 181.
Yes, there are significant route changes, so get a jump on those other
riders and come check it out. This route has more than 20 hills and wanders
through 3 beautiful mountain valleys — Zack's Fork, Happy Valley, and
Collettsville. Except for the beginning and the last mile, the whole route
is on lightly trafficked, two lane roads.
It's a great way to get ready for Mt. Mitchell! The ride will be fully
supported, including three rest stops, marshals at most turns, three sag
vehicles patrolling the course, and a filling meal when you return.
