First some sun, at last, but then the usual heavy gray clouds, temp >45
but no other riders.
Doc's ride must go, so off to Delaware. Very little car traffic,
including Garnet Mine Road until the top just before Kirk Road when I
see that the road is roped off with yellow tape and a gigantic tree is
entirely across the road. I can carry the bike around on the right and
then carry on. Only after passing did I realize that there were probably
downed wires and the damp ground might have been electrified even away
from the wire sided of the road. I'm still here so guess I was lucky.
Explored Centerville, checked out Collier's wine shop, nice lunch at
Montrachet, Paradoxx
tasting room is moved to Kennett Square.
Thompson Bridge Road climb with heavy water pouring down on the right.
Traffic lets me keep out of most of the water (Drivers are more savvy in
Delaware?).
Rest of the ride was uneventful.
50 miles. Good climbs.????grades, feet of climbing????, etc
Larry/Doc
