[DVBC] Anyone out there with a Conscience

Cheryl is the only member who has responded for the creek cleanup this weekend. I realize that this conflicts with the swap meet but some of you must have enough bike junk by now! 

We've got tons of energy to climb mountains and plan wonderful tours and banquets, but no time to give back to the environment. I'll just let the watershed folks know that the DVBC membership needed he day to buy some more stuff for themselves. "Me, me, me, me, me."

I really don't know if I can go on being a member of this club who's priorities are so selfish and who's liability concerns are so huge!

  10TH ANNUAL STREAMS CLEANUP
  CHESTER-RIDLEY-CRUM WATERSHED ASSOCIATION
  SATURDAY MAY 5TH 9 AM TO 11:30

  I will again be coordinating DVBC's contribution to the CRC Watershed Cleanup. For several years now DVBC volunteers have helped out CRC in this worthy effort. We will spend a couple of hours cleaning up north of Springton reservoir and then have a great free picnic lunch at Rose Tree Park and get a nice high-vis tee shirt.

  CRC asks DVBC specifically to help out because the area where we work has no legal car parking. We will ride our bikes to the intersection of Bishop Hollow and Gradyville Roads lock up and pick up.
    
  We will meet at Rose Tree Park at 9:00 am with your bikes. We will ride to our area (see below) and pick up until 11:30. We will be out of sight of our bikes so you may want to bring a lock. We leave the trash on site and ride back to Rose Tree for our picnic.

  I will supply gloves and the bags. It is suggested that you wear light colored long pants and long sleeves to ward off insects and ticks and protect from poison ivy. Tick repellant is also a good idea.
