[DVBC] BW Tour ads

Not using the registration form on the flyer may not be a true indicator of the effectiveness of the flyer to bring out riders. When I get a flyer for a tour it sits on my desk till I mark the date of the tour on my calendar and then it goes in my bike rides folder. I never use the flyer registration form because I'm always too late to register by mail when I finally make the decision to do the ride. Lots of people wait to make this decision until they see what the weather will be.
If I don't get a flyer there is a much greater chance that the date of the tour would not get on my calendar and I would forget about riding it.
Do we have a place on the registration form asking how the registrant heard about the tour? This might be a good way to determine what kind of advertizing works.
Advertising in the media however will reach the largest audience. The week-end section of the Inquirer probably has the largest circulation.

Drew's right. Last year, for all the flyers we had printed and plastered on windshields at other cycling events, very few were used to register for our tours. And we seem to have fewer club members who attend other tours and volunteer to distribute flyers before the start of the ride.
For 2007, we had 8.52 x 11 inch Brandywine Tour color posters printed, as well as post card sized handouts, that members of the Board will distribute to bike shops and gyms. If anyone would like to help distribute the remaining copies, please let me know. Thank you!

Thanks for the offer, Dave. However, because of a low response rate to the flyers, we're not printing them this year.

Any DVBC members planning to ride the Covered Bridges on Aug. 19th?
If there are a few of us attending I can help with Brandywine flyers on the windows.
