Dear RAAM Family,  

RAAM 2007 is history and we're already building RAAM 2008. Our Race
Management Team met last week and reviewed last year's race, and we're busy
incorporating your great feedback into plans for RAAM 2008! Thanks for your
comments...we really are listening!

 

News flash! - Team PAC Masters 75+ is the first entry for the 2008 race. Lee
"Fuzzy" Mitchell, and his intrepid band of 75-year-old friends, are eager to
demonstrate that age is no barrier to to the power of a youthful spirit!

Reserve your spot now as we are likely to limit the number of racers for the
2008 race. Go to the

for a Solo Entry or $1000 a Team Entry. With your pre-registration, please
be sure to provide your name, phone number, email, and category. Complete
online registration will be available in October. 

Entry Fees for the race are:

Solo: Before December 15, 2007 - $1995.   After 12/15/07 - $2295. 

2-Person Team: Before December 15, 2007 - $2995. After 12/15/07 - $3395.

4-Person Team: Before December 15, 2007 - $4795. After 12/15/07 - $5695.

8-Person Team: Before December 15, 2007 - $7995. After 12/15/07 - $8995.

Start date for 2008 will very likely be the same timeframe as 2007 with an
expected start of June 8, 2008.

Start date, start location, finish location, and cutoffs to be confirmed
within the next six weeks.

 


Women's Cutoff extended & New Team Starting Times

62883395> In an effort to respond to your feedback, and after analysis of
historical norms, RAAM is planning to extend the Solo Women's cut-off time.
We haven't finalized the EXACT time limit, but we anticipate an extension of
12+ hours. We'll accomplish this by holding a seperate Women's Start on
Saturday (with Men starting on Sunday) 

 

Additionally, to facilitate race management, and bring more excitement to
the Finish Line, we'll start our 4 & 8 person teams a day later on
Wednesday. So, the tenative start times look like this: 

 

Saturday        Solo Women

Sunday          Solo Men

Wednesday    4 & 8 Person Teams

 

Stay tuned to these newsletters, and our web site for confirmation of these

RAAM Seeks Techincal Director

The 2007 Race Across America was a great race with some of the best
web-based race coverage ever. The race has been growing the last couple of
years and we expect that growth to continue. We are at a point where we need
a healthy infusion of technology to advance our efficiency and prepare for
the future. 

RAAM, the World's Toughest Bicycle Race, is seeking a Technical Director to
direct our technology efforts and help facilitate our growth. You should
have experience in project management, working as a team, and using current
technology. As Technical Director, you would be working with an experienced
management team who are also race veterans.
