I had shoes. They were of the "boat" variety rather than the "bike" variety.
My bike shoes were resting comfortably in my bike's parking place, and the boat shoes were enjoying the morning out on my feet. This is what happens when you normally bike to the rides... Lucky I remembered to bring the bike.
I'm going to contact Sidi to see if they will make an SPD compatible boat shoe for the sailing/cycling set.

Rookie Jon DeCristofaro stole the show by recording the day's fastest time of 13:32. Jim Irwin pared a whopping 58 seconds off his previous time by registering 14:31. Mel Stiles, who arrived warmed up and primed, took a wrong turn and still managed 15:29. Doug and Nancy, sporting a new T-2000 Trek tandem, recorded the second fastest tandem time ever (14:25) despite Doug's pre-ride breakfast of macaroni & cheese and sausage.
Dangerous Dan Dillon capably drove the camera vehicle enabling the videographer to record the day's happenings. Judy LaDrew's precise timing caught each rider's arrival to the nearest thousandth of a second.
