The SON (Schmidt original Nabendynamo) is a front hub dynamo that I have used for 3 years in night
commuting. More info is at www.peterwhitecycles.com<http://www.peterwhitecycles.com/>

Subject: [DVBC] Bike generators
Hey, gang, I know it's been pretty rough lately, what with the ice, and snow, and cold, that we haven't been able to ride (most of us, anyway). So I've been thinking about the coming touring season and getting my Cannondale into shape.
Many of you know that I like to make my own electricity. My bottle generator, on the other hand, is starting to make some serious noise, like the bearings are going, so I've been thinking about replacing it. Does anyone have experience with a bottom bracket mounted generator, or a dynohub? Or maybe I should replace my inexpensive unit with a better one?
Thanks for any ideas you can offer. Be safe out there.
Dom
