[DVBC] Physics question

I'm left wondering...At the moment Bob's water bottle became frozen; were they riding through a wooded area?  Meaning, did his bottle actually "freeze in the woods"?  If so, did anybody hear it?

I would like to propose that physics had nothing to do with it.
I think it was Bob's fast and smooth riding form that made his freeze  
first.
If you ride smoother with less agitation of the water it will freeze  
faster.
