Doug
That is correct. I use bottles with lids for MTB and Amish bio-hazards. Are you feeling okay? Who knows what pathogens you ingested yesterday. I'll be praying for you. Anyway provided you pull through I know of three brands, Zefel, REI, & Bell. I prefer the Zefel because it is easier to clean than the REI bottle (simpler design with no gasket) though the REI is a nicer bottle. I know you opt for the high tech stuff. Actually I can't believe you did not find any of the Bell bottles at the department stores. Though I must warn you that the Bell's are the lowest quality of the three. I have seen the Bell bottles recently at Dicks and The Sports Authority in Delaware on 202. I was there about a month ago with my youngest son. I have seen the Zefel bottle on Ebay too. Also I just checked REI's web page for you. You can purchase them their at eight bucks a piece plus shipping. Last page of five if you put "water bottle" in their search. You may also luck out with one of the department store web sites if you opt to spend less and get the Bell. Anyway as for those pathogens, drink plenty of green tea and hope for the best. I don't feel so bad now that I know I'm not the only guy out there worried about being full of horse ----.
See you out there soon;
Frank

Frank,

If I remember correctly, you have water bottles with lids. While riding to Intercourse yesterday I could taste a lot of salt and “whatever” after drinking out of my water bottle. I don’t want to show my germ-a-phobia side but I don’t want to consume the fertilizer that is left on the road by the Amish, if you catch my drift. I have looked at REI, Cycle Sport, Action Wheels, Performance, Target and the Evil Wal-mart for 22 ounce water bottles but no luck. Any ideas?

germ-a-phobe, Doug

This morning while walking around the demolition site I was thinking of how the group made out. Basically it was the same cold conditions that made me think of the group. Glad to hear all survived.Frank

For those of you who missed the Sunday Witness Ride.......

It was cold. The roads were wet. We were caked with salt and horse you know what. EVERYTHING was closed (except the bathrooms in Intercourse). Bob took us up an incredible hill (Nancy was heard muttering something about Bob). Greg and Nancy had flat tires. We had lunch at a gas station. It snowed. One rider asked how we could have a tail wind if the snow was coming at us as we were riding! The saving grace was the hot chocolate and mini marshmallows at Bob's at the ride's end. All in all a nice day.
