Oops! When I wrote down all the people on the ride I had you in my mind
and was going to write that you rode in the rain to get to the start.
And I did count you because I got 12 and you were #12.
Anyway, my apologies go out to Dave Hartrum who did ride along with us
in his red, white & blue (so did Doug and Mike Toofe). I did hear bits
of a conversation Dave and Doug had with mention of "water" and "butt
crack"--but I won't go there.

Sounds like it was a great ride Deb. Sorry I missed it.

The July 4th ride from Aston to Northbrook went on as
scheduled since fortunately the rain stopped just before the ride. We
dealt with some wet roads but it wasn't bad at all and we never had rain
on the ride. A total of 12--Doug, Nancy, Jim Irwin, Alex, Maureen, Mike
Toofe, Dom, Jo Ann, Bob Thomas, Brian, and I--had a great ride out to
Northbrook. Nancy had a flat due to a nasty hole in her tire caused by
a pair of glasses on the road. Mike Toofe did fantastic even though
this ride was 30 miles longer than any he's done so far this year.
Northbrook was closed and although we couldn't eat their goodies, we
were able to take a rest and head back home. We were surprised when we
turned onto Country Club Rd and immediately became part of a parade so
we just rode along with the kids on their decorated bikes. One little
guy was upset that "even that old lady is passing me" when Jo Ann rode
past him.
Afterwards we had lots of goodies at my place and hung
out, ate and drank. Misty, Steve, and Nancy Thomas joined us for the
picnic. Juror #6 definitely missed out on some great food! Aston's
fireworks were cancelled until the 8th, but that was okay. It was a
good way to spend the 4th.
Dreamer Debbie
