Hi Eric.
It's good to hear from you. I'm jealous yet again of you that you again got to see the Tour. It's one of my dreams to get over there some day.
As far as rides that would help Evan, I think you could develop some type of loop close to your area like the AHCS rides we do. We stay close to home, get an hour or so of climbing in and it makes you strong. Of course, you and Evan could just come out for the AHCS rides. I haven't done many of them lately but have been thinking of starting them up again.
Another idea might be to list rides at off times when they fit into your schedule. How about a Saturday or Sunday late afternoon early evening ride? Or develop a mtn bike or hybrid ride that utilizes Smedley Park.
Hey, enjoy the rest of your vacation! I'd love to see any pictures and goodies that you picked up along the way.
Debbie

Subject: [DVBC] rides thread
hey all,
first off, i would like to send greetings from france. we are in ciboure, near biarritz on the basque coast. we were before this in the pyrenees. due to a lack of bike-rental places anywhere close, evan and i hiked 12km through the mountains to secure a viewing spot about 50 yards from the finish line at the col dàubisque.
it was dramatic and exciting, despite the subsequent upset of rasmussen.
now to the subject: i have been wanting to lead a ride, but it is very difficult for me due to my totally un-predictable travel schedule. i will promise however, to lead a ride in october. on the matter of ride difficulty etc, i would like to see some rides that would be good for youth development. maybe some short rides but difficult.... lots of hills for practice, but not too far out-and-back.
obviously, i am leaning this way because my own son, evan, is starting to get into cycling, and i see things a new way now. any other thoughts along these lines? any other members with kids who will like to start cycling?
one more thing: i remember fondly those time-triqls which len so generously gavze his time to organize. i hope the recent one from bob ladrew will possibly become a regular event.
thanks for reqding. see you all upon our return (this next weekend possibly).
