[DVBC] Univest CycloSportif on 9/8

Dear Cycling Club or Team,

I just wanted to let your group know about our upcoming event in Souderton PA, the Univest CycloSportif to happen on Sept. 8th.  I am really looking to promote this event and get it out there,  Last year we had over 375 participants last year and are looking to expand the field. Riders came in from New York City, New England, Washington D.C., the Midatlantic, and of course PA!   It is a great time.  It is also our organizer, John Eustice's goal to expand the cyclosportif event in the states.  We are hoping this type of event takes off with the Univest venue as the jumping off point. Cyclosportif 100K set for Saturday, September 8th, 2007

 

Don't Miss the Chance to Ride A Professional Racecourse!

 

WHAT:            The Univest Cyclosportif 100K, a timed recreational ride on the famed Univest Grand Prix racecourse, begins at 8:00am on Saturday, September 8, 2007.   "Cyclosportif" is a European term for the recreational cyclist who enjoys the challenge of riding in a pro race atmosphere. This unforgettable experience includes Feed Zones, KOM and Sprint markers and a taste of life in the pros.

 

Post ride, after receiving their official times and stats, the Cyclosportif riders will be treated to showers and a delectable meal.  TV Jumbotrons will show the live coverage, and riders can compare their times to those of the pros.  Over $10,000 in spectacular prizes from Bianchi, De Rosa and Festina will be raffled to participants. The grand prize is a trip for two to a Cyclosportif in Provence, France including airfare through VeloSport Vacations!

WHO:              The Univest Grand Prix is titled by the Univest Corporation of Pennsylvania and is produced by Sparta Cycling of New York City.  The Cyclosportif 100K benefits Indian Creek Foundation, a non-profit organization that provides care to individuals with developmental disabilities or autism spectrum disorders.    

 

WHY:               This unparalleled event reveals cycling's European roots while evoking something truly American.  The Univest Cyclosportif 100K is for the real enthusiasts, the ones who follow the Tour de France, train regularly, and want to push themselves in new directions.  For all of its intensity and for all the kudos deserved for finishing the race, the Univest Cyclosportif is friendly and fun.  It is the chance for the weekend warrior to experience and feel the atmosphere of a true international racecourse. Great course markings, feed zones, sprint zones, king of the mountains, it's all there for a rider or a group of friends riding together to have their own "day in the pros".
