[DVBC] Velodrome: Olympians from 15 countries!

            This Friday the Lehigh Valley Velodrome will host the third 
consecutive UCI-sanctioned race this season, the OAA Institutes Fastest Man 
on Wheels featuring the KidsPeace BRL Finals.  This action packed event will 
boast some of the fastest sprinters in the world and will have fields 
consisting of multiple world champions and Olympians from 15 different 
countries!



            A short list of riders scheduled to attend this event are world 
champion Roberto Chiappa from Italy, world medalist Tim Veldt and Yondi 
Schmidt of  Holland, Germany's world champions Max Levy and Christin Muche, 
Olympian Josiah Ng from Malaysia, the Argentinean National Team, Team Rite 
Aid's Alejandro Borrajo, the hottest road sprinter in the United States, 
Denmark's Kasper Jessen, Pete Fitzpatrick of Australia, Haseem Maclean from 
Trinidad, Michael Gonzalez of Puerto Rico, the USA and Canadian National 
Teams, and the USA Cycling Track Training Center's own T-town Express 
featuring 2004 Olympian Giddeon Massie, junior world championship medalists 
Ryan Nelman and Andy Lakatosh, and Ben Barczewski.



            Gates will open for the qualifying rounds of the Fastest Man on 
Wheels at 10:00 a.m. on the 22nd for men and women.  Admission is free in 
the morning and there will be festival style seating available for 
spectators.  The gates will re-open for the evening at 6:30 and racing will

            Enter for a chance to win $500 at the Velodrome on Friday night 
by bringing your old cell phone with you!  Each used cell phone that you 
bring will enter you into a drawing to win a chance to toss your phone into 
the recycling bin for $500 cash.  All proceeds benefit the "March to Medals" 
program to help raise money for young, aspiring riders in the area.  All 
fans who recycle phones will be given a $25 credit towards a new phone 
purchase at Yakety Yak Wireless in Macungie!  Don't forget your used cell 
phone this Friday!



            Also stop by the Breakaway Café located in the Courtyard at the 
Lehigh Valley Velodrome to enjoy our happy hour specials from 6:30-7:30 p.m. 
on Friday.  Take advantage of our $1.00 off all draft beer and a $1.00 hot 
dog with the purchase of a draft beer.  Come out and enjoy a cold beverage 
and delicious dinner before the excitement of the OAA Fastest Man on Wheels 
featuring the KidsPeace BRL Finals gets underway!
