When I had a Waterford built up last year, I had a compact crank added. With a 12-27 rear cluster ( I certainly do not need an 11 , the compact has the range of a triple without thw eight and shifting complexity.

Subject: Re: [DVBC] Compact Crankset
I'm trying to decide if a compact crank set would be the way to go if I get a new bike. Is anyone out there using one and how do you like it? I've got a triple on my current bike and hardly ever use the big or the little gear, although there was a hill or two last year that I did break down and use the granny. My inquiring mind would like to know. Thanks.
Debbie
