Edward and Ira,
Motorists think we're all crazy. I don't believe you two are crazy. You, Edward, are certainly the epitome of the oxymoron "Serious Cyclist". (Gina and I are what Tony refers to as "LALA" cyclists.)
As far as lawsuits go, I've been down that road before and you should be warned that the key to winning such a case all goes back to FX Pedrix. I threatened him with a lawsuit once and learned that he has more smart lawyers than GE or CSX railroad. The only way to win is to join in a class action suit. Perhaps if we can get all the injured parties together, we could interest the American Cyclists Civil Liberties Union in taking the case.
D.

It looks to me that many more people in our club could be consider "crazy" although I might be the only one called crazy by the official publication. Have you seen the DVBC News Letter lately? I am considering a law suit against the club, as soon as I can find a lawyer who would not laugh at that cartoon.

I saw him this past Sunday near the top of Birmingham/Dilworthtown Rd ready to ride downhill to Cheney. Helmeted, no shirt, sneakers and high top socks with a very grim determined look on his face. He was standing next to his bike looking at his watch, then hopped on and rode off in a big gear to start his time trialing. I'd say he's crazy, but then again, so might I be.

I wish to head off future misunderstandings about the Mad Russian. It said in the column that he was sighted helmetless. That is not correct. He has always worn a helmet when I've sen him. He doesn't wear a shirt, bike shorts, nor does he ever sit on a saddlle. He does always wear a helmet.
