Here is what I've gleaned so far.
1. EDUCATION is the pillar of our civilization and its future.
In the past, the LAB has promoted the catch phrase "Complete the Streets" which means making our thoroughfares suitable for all modes of transportation including: motor vehicles, pedestrians, public transit, handicapped or disabled, and cyclists. We will continue to promote that idea. We are working on that issue especially on the State level in Harrisburg by including awareness of cyclists in the Pa Drivers education and testing. I'm sure Lab will include education in their agenda. Education of both cyclists and motorists comes up at every advocacy meeting I've been to.
2. The SUMMIT of MT. WASHINGTON continues to be problematic reguarding confusion with a Summit in Washington. I gather you want us to ask the Federal Govt. to:
A. Condemn the Mountain (it is currently private property), put it in the public domain, and have the Army Corps of Engineers move the summit to the Washington Mall in order to head off future misunderstandings.
B. Change the name to Mt. Pazos, or Mt. Armstrong, or Hillary Hill.
C. Have the Engineers decrease the grade, as well as lowering the summit so that C level riders would be able to ride up there and so the weather will be more hospitible and so you can see the view rather than just the hand in front of your face.
3. We will report the MAD RUSSIAN to Homeland Security because it is so obvious he is still fighting the COLD war.
Seriously folks, This topic is open until next Wednesday...both serious, sober and reverent...and in jest.
