David,
I can't tell you how emotional it was on Saturday evening when Nancy and I removed Bob's clothing and bikes from his house. I didn't think it would bother me to see those items without Bob, but it did and I expect it will have the same effect on you.
All the clothing and equipment are in perfect condition, maybe a little dirty after sitting a few years, but still, top of the line equipment. If it is to be sold at the swap meet it needs cleaning too fetch top dollar and be more presentable.
I think Bob would want his friends to have mementos of him, and I want everyone to have that opportunity.
All of Bobâs bicycling equipment is now in my barn, to give all DVBC members the opportunity to have a memento of him; and the chance to help Cassie, please feel free to come over Friday, Saturday or Sunday October 5 - 7, 2007.
Please feel free to contact me should you have any questions, Doug Bower

>Ira,  I thought of that as well. It would be appropriate to make Bob's stuff available to the club before we sell it on the open market. His bikes are probably much smaller than 57" and there are a lot of folks who need smaller sizes.  D'stre` ----- Original Message ----- From: Ira Josephs To: dvbc-list at dvbc.org Sent: Monday, October 01, 2007 8:21 AM Subject: Re: [DVBC] Velodrome
> Doug I won't have time to help with the cleanup, but I had offered to help out at the table, thinking I could bring stuff of my own to sell, and if there were several of us, everyone could take time to look around as well as sit at the table. I know they only allow 2 people in per table and I wouldn't mind paying admission, but I wonder if they would let me in with my tandem and miscellaneous sellables. Of course this would all be contingent with me not having to work (a pretty good chance I won't have to) and transporting my tandem there (I am having trouble with my van.)  The other thing is, maybe you could sell some of the stuff by listing it on our listserve. I have a 5'7" friend looking for a decent road bike wanting to spend up to $500. >Unfortunately this equipment has been sitting in BobÂs basement for the last few years and needs some cleaning before it can be sold. Normally it wouldnÂt be a problem for me to take care of this over the next few weeks but I am out of town on business except for Friday, Saturday and Sunday October 5th, 6th, and 7th. I donÂt think I can get it all presentable, tagged and appraised by the 13th by myself. So I am asking every able bodied DVBC member to help. I need volunteers to come to my house over the weekend of October 6-7th and help me clean, appraise, and tag this stuff so It will be presentable and hopefully sell at the swap meet.  I will provide cleaning supplies, rags, food and beverages for everyone that comes.
