[DVBC] Night Ride 10/31

Hi All,

I'm going to do a night ride 10/31, probably around 9 PM, from Swarthmore to some of the club's usual "haunts" (ha ha!). Before you dismiss the idea of night-riding as too spooky for you, consider this:
- we ride after it's fully dark. This makes it a lot safer than a twilight ride, as often happens near the end of the summer.
- we ride on Halloween, after the kids have done their tricking-and/or-treating, and late enough that there should  very little traffic.
- Halloween is the day *after* mischief night, which is when teenagers do stupid things in their own towns. So it should be out of their system by then. 
- I believe the police usually staff a little extra on 10/31, so we should be even more safe.
- we ride with lights or we don't ride.

I went out last week and saw very few cars... it was fun. You get a slightly different perspective on where you are and how the roads look, etc. Obviously you will need a front light (so you can see) and a taillight (so you can be seen). If you show up without two lights, you're on someone else's ride, not mine.

Write back if you're interested in this ride and we can adjust routes and timing together as needed. I wanted to do midnight, but people have jobs and so on. Finally, it will not be an official club ride. The ride is not associated with the club at all... I'm just posting it to this list for your interest.
