Nova Scotia is a very good choice, as you know Bob Ladrew, Judy Ladrew,
Ed Becker and I rode in Nova Scotia a few years ago and loved it. I
would go back and maybe ride up the bay side of the island from Yarmouth
to Scots Bay, cross over to the ocean side somewhere near Halifax then
ride south down the ocean side back to Yarmouth. I quick check of the
map looks as if it would be 550 - 600 miles, keeping the miles to 60/day
plus 1 day drive up and 1 day drive home my guess it could be done as
follows:
Day 1: Drive to Portland, MA, 8 hours, spend night in Portland
Day 2: Board ferry 0800, for a 6 hour high speed ride to Yarmouth, NS,
mount bicycles and ride to Digby, NS 60 miles.
Day 3: Ride to the tip of the Bay Of Fundy, Brier Island and back to
Digby. 65 miles.
Day 4: Ride to Margaretsville, 60 miles.
Day 5: Ride to Scots Bay, 60 miles.
Day 6: Ride to Bedford, 70 miles.
Day 7: Ride to Chester, 60 miles.
Day 8: Ride to Liverpool, 60 miles.
Day 9: Ride to Shelburne, 60 miles.
Day 10: Ride to Yarmouth, 70 miles. Board Ferry at 1600 for 6 hour ride
to Portland, MA
Day 11: Drive back home
I tried attaching a map of Nova Scotia for you to see, but the list
blocked it, so is the link to a very good NS map:
