Ira,

If you are using the legacy Windows NT operating system on your PC and
you have an older Garmin NT compatible GPS, you need the NT version.
The model 76CXS GPS is a very good choice and it is so new I doubt it
was ever sold as a NT compatible unit. Microsoft hasn't supported
Windows NT since 2000.

Hope this helps, Buckeye

Subject: [DVBC] Question for Garmin GPS users from a GPS newbie

I am looking at buying a Garmin Legend HCS or a 76CXS. I am confused
about which mapping software to get.
There are 2 versions of City Navigator North America. The regular and
the NT. The NT says it has different compression so that it can be
loaded to a Garmin unit. If I am putting the maps on an SD card, which
version should I buy? If I get the NT version, will I be able to map
routes on my computer and transfer them to my GPS? Do I need different
software to use cue sheets and routes that other people have saved?
Thanks for your help and advice,
Ira Wallace
