[DVBC] Tomorrow's AHCS Ride--Update

Deb, it looks like the weather forecasters were playing APRIL FOOLS with you and all of us. Sorry you cancelled your ride. Did anyone get out on this beautiful (if forecasted tobe miserable) night?

I think we really ought to think twice before cancelling rides via the list serve based on a weather forecast. First of all, this assumes that everyone in the club looks at the list serve the day of the ride, and second of all, we have missed and will continue to miss some good riding weather by doing this.

As I ride leader, my approach has been to assume the ride is going to happen unless the weather is actively raining at the ride start time. Even if the forecast scare most people off, there still might be a few people out at the starting point wanting to ride and by scheduling a ride I feel like I am making a commitment to be there for those people.

ANY OTHER THOUGHTS ON THIS?

ADAM

The weather forecasters, you know those dirty bast&* #! who keep causing us trouble, have yet again forecasted rain for another of my rides. If it's raining or the roads are wet I'm cancelling the ride. No point taking a chance of crashing on a downhill. I'll post a message tomorrow if it's cancelled.
Debbie
