[DVBC] ride routes

I assumed using bikeley was less work and hadn't considered our web site.
I'm all for having a library of rides whether or not they also get posted at
bikeley. I assume we'd also have a section for directions to starting spots.
I know I had a rider take the train from Philly for one of my rides leaving
from the Rose Valley train station. That was: A) excellent planning on my
part (for both inclusion of folks taking the train and using a starting
point already familiar to many); B) wise choice as Ira could be an emergency
substitute leader (a belated public thanks to Ira for doing just that a
couple of years back) or C) selfish (the ride from home to RV is an ideal
warm-up) and lazy (didn't have to think about a different location). This
being a presidential election year I'm going for what puts me in the best
light and not let evidence, facts and general opinion get in the way.
I'm Mike Keating and I approved this message. (Sorry, just can't contain
myself with all the exciting local coverage of the primary).

If the goal is to help the club, then putting our club's ride leaders'
routes on Bikely is not the best way to go. A much better value for the club
would be making and posting cue sheets on the club website. Posting on DVBC
would provide a unique value proposition that attracts interested riders to
the club's primary public interface which in turn helps boost regular ride
participation and awareness, drive membership, and increase event
attendance. Putting the same information on another website potentially
undermines that unique value that we can offer.
Creating cue sheets is a good and valuable project. We have started
discussions and are planning a major revision of the club's website on which
cue sheets will have a prominent place. Let's just try to maximize the
return on effort and benefit to the club.

Ummm, I think we've got something going here. And we seem to have a
committee. Do you guys want to set up an in-person meeting along with
anyone else interested or just discuss it via email. Can anyone answer
Mike's questions? Maybe talk about it while on a ride, thats my favorite
place to meet.
