Dear folks,
Hi! I'd like to invite you guys to a cycle which will change the lives of
children with HIV/AIDS. I do hope you will spread the word about this event
and that you, too, will participate!
Cycling teams are invited to be a part of
<http://www.climbupsokidscangrowup.com> 2008 Climb Up So Kids Can Grow Up
which takes place worldwide on September 20 and/or 21, 2008. The event is
hosted by the American Foundation for Children with AIDS (a non-profit
organization which sends free medicine to children with AIDS in Africa) and
the American Alpine Institute to give children hope and life.
We are looking for 10 cycling teams (small or large) to be a part of this
event. Each team raises $5000 for our programs, which sounds enormous, but
it really isn't. If you have 10 people in a team, that is only $500 per
person...very doable! If a team starts fundraising soon, there is plenty of
time to reach your goals. We provide all sorts of tips on how to fundraise
the money on our website (
<http://www.climbupsokidscangrowup.com/frideas.html>
http://www.climbupsokidscangrowup.com/frideas.html). While there is no
deadline to register, it is best to register soon so you can send us the
specific information we need from each team so we can create a page for you
on our website.
Individuals are also invited to participate.
All this to say that we'd like to challenge you to take up this project. If
you are interested, please email us at
<mailto:info at helpchildrenwithaids.org> info at helpchildrenwithaids.org for
more information or go ahead and register at www.ClimbUpSoKidsCanGrowUp.com.
Thank you for letting your membership know about this opportunity so they
may have fun while serving others.
Tanya

What a great ride on Saturday 4/26 that included 16 of DVBC's finest - Dan

Truly. Group was led by Dan D. and Mary H. (sort of). Total of 32 miles
from Chadds Ford Elementary School to Country Butcher in Kennett Square for
a nice "brunch" and back before the forecasted rain. Lots of great
conversation about the Spain trip and the Spanish Babes were very happy to
be back in Pa. riding, eating and conversing with our favorite cycling
compadres. An honorary "Cycling in Girona" jersey was bestowed upon our
coach, Dan, to demonstrate our appreciation for all the time he spent
helping the Babes prepare for their momentous trip. Thanks to everyone that
came out for the ride - it was great to see you all.
