Dave and Adam went up Dilworthtown and then came back down and rode back to Rose Tree the same way as the rest of the group. The most exciting part of the ride: we had a sighting of the Mad Russian on the Dilworthtown hill, and Dave (who was ahead of Adam) actually madeverbal contact, and received New Year's wishes from him. (Dave can confirm the exact wording). MR wore the usual khaki shorts, but surprisingly also wore a T-shirt, which had on the backside the word "Backe" and the number "41". Adam googled this phrase, and found out that Brandon Backe (Number 41) is a pitcher for the Houston Astros of the National League. The relationship of the MR to the Mr. Backe is at yet unclear, but perhaps we can clear this up in our next conversation. Adam rode over 34 miles by the time he got back to Media, exhausted, and ended up falling asleep about 11:45 at a friend's New Year's Party, but was revived by an injection of champagne just in time to toast in 2008.
