anybody else who considers going out for this weeknight ride, it was a
lot of fun. much more extensive than i had than i figured for a
night-time jaunt, with some good hills (painful for my atrophied legs,
but still good).

one thing also i realized.... my little headlight is only good for
being seen. i need to get something better so i can actually see the
road and the potholes. also, it became very plain that a visor on my
helmet will be indispensable for those times when cars are coming
head-on. i found myself looking down so that the brow of the helmet
blocked the headlights, but then i was looking straight down at my front
wheel. a visor would be much more effective.

hopefully there will be other warmish weeknights befor the winter's over.

thanks jon!
