Bob,
Thanks for the info. I plan to work the races as a course marshall in Allentown 6/3 and Lancaster 6/5, plus the tour PA prologue time trial in Philly T 6/24 and the start of the race across PA in Downingtown on W 6/25. I am interested in car pooling to Allentown and Lancaster with any other volunteers. Will probably bike into Philly and bike from home to Downingtown depending on the report times.

I'll be working the stage that begins in Downingtown on June 24
and I hope to see other DVBC members there that day.

High 5®, a U-25 cycling stage race taking place June 24 thru June 29,
2008 -- and you have the opportunity to become a part of this first-of
its-kind world-class cycling event!
The public is invited to experience the excitement of
international cycling first-hand by volunteering to help in the start/finish

Presented by Highmark Healthy High 5® -- a six-day, 450 mile stage race
across Pennsylvania from Philadelphia to Pittsburgh. The race is a
signature sporting event for Pittsburgh 250, a commission established to
celebrate Pittsburgh's 250th anniversary in 2008, and is the world's richest
cycling race for elite international cyclists in the espoir class.
("Espoir," French for "hope," denotes the race is for up-and-coming riders
under the age of 25).
The Tour of Pennsylvania will showcase the world's best young cyclists and
will feature at least twenty, six-rider teams, including several who are
expected to participate in the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games and the Tour de
France. The race, which begins with a prologue time trial in Philadelphia
on June 24th, will have start/finish locations in the following cities
across the state; Downingtown, Carlisle, Camp Hill, Bedford, Latrobe,
Ligonier and Pittsburgh.
"We always have room for helping hands and smiling faces," says Jerry
Casale, chief operating officer of Pro Cycling Tour, which has partnered
with ISM-USA of Pittsburgh to produce the event. "Whether you're a die-hard
cycling fan or just a fan of the outdoors, you are welcome to join us for
what promises to be an incredible experience for the athletes, the fans and
all of the cities that will be part of this historic race. Show off your
community pride and help us host safe and memorable race stages for
everyone!"
Hundreds of volunteers will be needed in the following areas:
course marshals, traveling marshals, stage crew, foreign language
interpreters, hospitality, marketing and public relations, security and
driver support.
