[DVBC] $4 gas good for bike shops

I was just looking into what makes gasoline so expensive. I was shocked to
find that the oil companies that explore for oil, drill for oil, transport
it to the refinery and refine it into gasoline make $0.08/gallon. The state
of Pennsylvania gets $0.18/gallon and the federal tax is $0.60/gallon. How
does this make any sense?
I guess that explains why the federal and state governments will do nothing
to help wean us off of oil.

My father worked for an oil company his entire life and when I use to
complain about the price of gas he would tell me to put that liter of Coke I
just payed the same price for in the tank of my car and see how far one
could drive on that. It's all a matter of perspective and priorities.
