We had some great weather today and a nice breeze to help us all
train our legs for the summer cycling season to come.
There were some complaints about the start time but all made it on
time. Jim demonstrated his driving skills as he came into the
Kingsway parking lot with tires squealing because of a time warp he
encountered which made him arrive just under the wire.
With those driving skills look out NASCAR !!
For all the complaints about start time Deb was one of the first to
arrive.
Be advised the east bound lane of the CB bridge is now only one lane
with a 25MPH speed limit.
The ride offered two starting locations/times. One group from
Kingsway and the other from Kountry Kitchen.
The Kingsway group consisted of Len, Bonnie, Deb, Charlie, Jim,
Lewis, and yours truly. We had about 89 miles at the end.
The Kountry Kitchen group consisted of Doug, Nancy, Maureen, Mike,
and Eric. Hope I didn't miss anyone. If so sorry in advance.
The KK group should have had about 56 miles at the end but I am not
100% certain.
The two groups met right on time at the Rt. 40/47 Wawa. The two
groups rode together off and on during the day but we were all together
for a nice lunch in the park at Mays Landing. There was much
discussion about the size of the hoagies from Sugar Hill but the
consensus all around was that 1 inch more would be nice.
We did seem to encounter more than the typical number of dogs along
the way.
No major incidents, just one flat tire and a close call or two with
the four legged critters.
We all enjoyed a nice shade tree and the strong breeze when we got
back to Kingsway.
If I can borrow Deb's closing line, thats my story and I am sticking
to it.
Thanks to all for a very enjoyable ride today.
