[DVBC] Chain Maintenance

Okay, here goes.  I just got a new chain on my bike and I thought I remember
the shop owner telling me when I first got my bike that the factory lube was
good for about 200 miles.  So, I checked the Sheldon Brown website and he
said that the factory lube is really great and is good  for "several hundred
miles" and not to clean it off until then.

So, that's my plan to leave it on and not mess with it.  Then what I will do
is as Sheldon suggests taking the chain and throwing it in a plastic Pepsi
bottle (he liked Coke but I like Pepsi and supposedly the mouth of the
bottle is bigger) with some undiluated citrus degreaser and shaking it
around and then fishing it out.  Then wash it off with water.

Next thing then, is what  type of lube works best.  So, what do you all
use?  I had been using a wax lube but many don't like that.  The one type
of  regular lube I bought really seemed to dirty up my bike.  What's the
best type lube?  Inquiring mind wants to know.  : )
