Lesa
Congratulations on such a success and persevering through some lean times to continue to make your ride available. Obviously the weather was a big part, but who knows what else was at play. I would think the hard economic times would have kept people away since anyone can ride for free plus the expense of driving to the start. Maybe they wanted to go to help with their depression.
Great job and thanks for doing it!
Ira

        Dear Bonkers Boy and all

BBC would like to thank all who road the Taxing. Brian was a wonderful addition Thanks Brian!

We had lots of eager early birds when I arrived at 6:30am so I recruiited them to help Bud and set up for the day. Last total count 250 (a new record for Taxing) and many did the full Metric (a new record as well)

Thank you to our sister club for all your help. Regards, Lesa Franz BBC President

Today on my neighborhood ride I passed a BBC food/water stop up in Supplee, near Honeybrook. Who should be working there but good Samaritan Brian Wade? I heard Lewis Neidle was around too. Somebody said the BBC had around 225 paid riders. They sure had a nice spring day.
I'm wondering how the Perfessor's 75-mile Jersey ride went. Did you guys get in the full 75? How many came? Any problems with the wind?

These events tend to be weather-driven, but still, we haven't had a turnout
that big for Bonkers since I've been in the club.

I dunno but my ride went very well. We had 11 folks turn up although one
turned back after 25 miles. This is the second ride this year that Rideaway
has come on and I must say that I really enjoy his company: He's
well-rounded and well-grounded. Also had Lon and Bennie, Barb Marsh, Woody
and Doc, Charlie, Len Davis, and two folks I hadn't met before, Christine
and Denise. The wind slowed us down on the way back from the Big Apple,
which had a very nice fare but slow service, but with that many people
riding in two lines we made decent time.
