Our Pres, Drew, saved the day yesterday allowing me to show for my ride by
stoking for him on his tandem. I broke a bone in my hand and is in a
cast which
needless to say makes it tough to ride. We got to Kings Way early only to
realize neither of us brought my saddle so back to Aston we went which made
us 15 minutes late. No one seemed to mind since those extra 15 minutes
allowed the temp at the start to be a tad warmer. We had 12 in all
out besides Drew and I--Dom Z., JoAnn F., Jim I., Charlie S., Len D.,
Massimo P., Carol H., Steve F., Carla N., and Mary H. It was good that we
dressed warmly with gloves, mittens and balaclavas. Jim aided Carla by
lending her a winter weight jacket that our new friend just moved here from
Florida didn't have. Luckily there wasn't much wind and plenty of warm,
beautiful sunshine. Our lunch stop was at the Pegasus Diner on Rt 40. Jim
and Mary amazed at how much those two can eat. It was a really fun ride and
being on the back of the tandem allowed me to chat it up with everyone.
Total miles for all but Charlie and Massimo was 43. Those two decided to
ride further. Well, that's my old broken bones story for the day. Hope to
recuperate fast. See ya out there.
Dreamer

(P.S. -- By the way, someone on this ride must have laid their nice Gortex
gloves on their car and pulled away because Jim found them in the parking
lot. Please contact either Jim or me to recover them.)
