[DVBC] Wed Nite Road Crew Ride Report

Eight riders and I headed out last night--Paul D., Len D., Ken, Alex, Ira,
Hammering Hank, Mike M., and Lou V. It was definitely a fast pace. Ira had a
mechanical before we got to RCSP but told us to go on. Hank, Paul and Mike
took off on Creek Rd for a breakaway but failed to turn at Station Rd as I
had instructed so they were misguided a while. We all got back together at
the back end of Cheyney Univ and who was leading those three back to the
group but Ira who had caught up. We all headed back via Creek at a screaming
pace turning onto Sweetwater for that sweet, long climb. The rest of the
ride back was frantic and Alex, Mike and Hank tore off in front and battled
it out up Sycamore Mills while further back I pulled a tired Paul back.
I ended up with 20.8 at 15.0 mph. Whew!!! Back in the parking lot we saw
Dom, JoAnn and Nancy from the C ride and chatted awhile and I sold some old
and new jerseys. We had beat the rain once again. Got in my car at exactly
8:05 as the pouring rain started. The weather forecasters were right for
once since they had called for it to start at 8:00. That's yesterday's
story, sticking to it.
